What Kristen helps with
Anxiety, depression, menopause and relationships.
Kristen sees adults and couples anywhere in Arkansas, by video, from wherever you are. In her words, "Sometimes we need an outside perspective to help us find a new path or work through old ones."
Kristen also helps with life transitions, trauma and PTSD, self-esteem, work stress, grief, domestic violence and emotional abuse, big existential questions, and college adjustment. She's an affirming, secular counselor for LGBTQIA+ clients, including questions of gender identity. She works with adults 18 and over. See every specialty on one page
-
Anxiety and stress
The 2 a.m. spiral. The tightness that doesn't let up. Work stress you've stopped mentioning because it's just how things are now.
-
Depression
Everything feels heavier than it should, and pretending you're fine is exhausting. Depression is one of Kristen's three main focus areas. She offers, in her words, "a supportive and collaborative space to explore your feelings, heal past wounds, and build healthier patterns."
-
Perimenopause and menopause
The sleep that stopped working. A temper that arrives before you do. Feeling like a stranger in your own body, and being told that's just how it is now. Kristen helps with the emotional side of this season. The hormonal side belongs with your doctor.
-
Relationships and couples
The same argument on repeat. Family conflict, codependency, attachment patterns you keep falling back into. Come as a couple or on your own.
-
EMDR therapy
EMDR is one of the approaches Kristen uses. It's best known as a therapy for trauma and for memories that won't settle. Whether it fits your work is something you decide together.

About
Hi, I'm Kristen.
I specialize in working with adults and couples experiencing depression, anxiety, and trauma, offering a supportive and collaborative space to explore your feelings, heal past wounds, and build healthier patterns.
I provide all sessions via secure telehealth, making therapy accessible, flexible, and convenient, so you can prioritize your mental health wherever you are. Let's take the first step together. Healing is possible, and you don't have to do it alone.
I borrow from many different therapy modalities, as I do not believe in a one size fits all treatment. I pull from CBT, psychodynamic, attachment based, solution-focused, trauma-informed, DBT, somatic techniques, EFT, and Gottman therapies.
You will leave therapy with a toolbox of coping skills.
"My goal for all my clients is to leave therapy feeling empowered and with coping skills to be more effective navigating your life."
Kristen has been working with people in many capacities since 1998 and has been fully licensed since 2010. She earned her Master of Science in Counseling at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Her work has included domestic violence services, Rape Crisis, suicide intervention, community mental health and private practice.
Colleague endorsement · Psychology Today
"Kristen's clients enjoy the benefit of her experience, compassion, and open minded approach to her practice. Having known Kristen for many years, I appreciate her ability to heal through by utilizing a strengths based therapeutic approach."
In Kristen's words
"Feel like a burden? Not sure if what you're feeling makes sense or is valid? Tired of pretending like everything is okay when it's not? These are all good reasons to seek some support."
Free consultation
Talk with Kristen before you decide.
Your first step is a free 15-minute consultation by video, or by phone if you would rather. It's a conversation, not a commitment.

Pick a day and time from Kristen's calendar. The form runs on SimplePractice, the secure system she uses for sessions. She confirms every request.
What to expect
Questions before your first session.
How do video sessions work?
Every session is on secure video. You join from home, from your car on a lunch break, from anywhere with a door that closes. No waiting room.
Does Kristen take my insurance? What does it cost?
Kristen is in network with three insurance plans in Arkansas:
- Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS)
- QualChoice
- Ambetter
Out of network, or not sure what your plan covers? She'll happily provide a superbill so you can use your out-of-network benefits, which are, in her words, “often more affordable than in-network.” There's also a self-pay rate. She accepts Amex, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, cash, check and HSA.
Do I have to live in Arkansas?
Yes. Kristen is licensed in Arkansas and sees Arkansas clients only, so you need to be in Arkansas during each session. If you live somewhere else, look for a therapist licensed in your state. It's worth the search.
What's the first session like?
There's no script and no right way to start. You can say as much or as little as you want. Kristen doesn't believe in one size fits all treatment, so the work is shaped around you. Over time, in her words: "Together, we'll uncover patterns, strengthen your sense of self, and develop tools to help you feel more grounded and connected."
What happens in the free consultation?
It's a free 15-minute conversation before you commit to anything, by video, or by phone if you would rather. Ask whatever you need to: her approach, insurance, whether now is the right time. Book it with the button above or call 479.777.2776. Consultations are usually on Friday afternoons, and Kristen is accepting new clients.
